As part of the large-scale aircraft measurement campaign CAFE-PACIFIC, Linda Ort, a doctoral candidate at MPIC, spent two months in Australia with her research colleagues. Using the research aircraft HALO and specialized measurement instruments, the team investigated cloud chemistry in the tropical region between Indonesia and northern Australia. In the video, Linda shares her impressions and experiences as an operator aboard the flying laboratory. A highlight for her was flying over the Great Barrier Reef. „The colors from above are simply spectacular,“ she says. Additionally, Linda completed her first dive at the Great Barrier Reef. A fantastic experience, as she reports.
