HALO

The Basis HALO Measurement and Sensor System (BAHAMAS)

HALO is equipped with a basis sensor system permanently installed at the aircraft, called BAHAMAS (Basic Halo Measurement and Sensor System). This basis sensor is operated and mainained by the DLR Flight Experiments (FX) facility in Oberpfaffenhofen.

The basis sensor system comprises:

  • Access to the basic aircraft position data
  • Measurement of the 3-D wind field and turbulence
  • Measurement of pressure and temperature
  • Measurement of humidity with different seonsors up to the tropopause level
  • Radiation
  • Surrounding conditions in the aircraft
  • Aircraft Parameter from the Air Data Computer
  • Video Signals
